Starting my journey into becoming a Leather Crafter!
Hi there, my name is Brandon, I am 26 and I’ve been
wanting to start the leather craft for quite a
while now. Well, now I finally took the plunge and
ordered a couple of straps of leather online to
make a few belts. I also bought a leather working
starter kit on Amazon, which I’ve seen a lot of
people not recommend them but rather to buy all of
the individual tools of much higher quality. I did
some research for that and it did come to be a bit
pricey for a hobby I am not 100% will stick just
yet.
To reiterate, I bought 2 pre-cut straps of leather
to make some belts. I figured belts would be a good
first project. They seem simple enough but still
give me plenty of wiggle room if I want to try out
some other stuff such as adding a border, adding
some stamps, and finishing the sides.
I don’t know yet what kinds of designs I will do
for my belts, but I am excited to just start
crafting and possibly experimenting on what I think
I can do!
I will be updating this blog with pictures and
writing more about the journey of leather crafting.
